Porsche Sports Cup Suisse is one of the best championships for Gentleman Drivers, thanks to an approach and rulement which makes it more enjoyable compared to a typical Carrera Cup.
During last season Enrico Fulgenzi Racing invested a lot of time and resources into this kind of programs, gaining some nice results and involving in the team a lot of new drivers, including the three guys who are back for a full campaign in 2021: Shintaro Akatsu, Ray Calvin and Gabriel Rindone.
The international trio is starting this campaign behind the wheel of the notorious 991 cars from Enrico Fulgenzi Racing, the vehicles have been revisted and updated in order to compete at their best, even though the team already has two 992 cars at home for the Carrera Cup France. EFR kept all their Porsches in the garage, and there are still two more 991 cars available.
As said before, Round 1 is scheduled at the Red Bull Ring on April the 24-25th; the Sports Cup Suisse Circus will then be hosted by some amazing international venues and will have his Gran Finale in Misano on late October.
Drivers:
Shintaro Akatsu, Japanese, raced several different rounds in Sports Cup suisse and Carrera Cup France in 2020, and he will bring on track all the duties he’s been learning during last season in order to improve his skills even more. Sadly, due to the travel restrictions, he’s not going to be able to race the first round, which he will have to forfait from; but all the Team is eager to join him back in the car whenever it’s possible for the entire Championship;
Gabriel Rindone (UAE) and Ray Calvin (CAN) are racing with a well defined goal: winning the Championship. They dressed their 991s in a special livery, which combines our 137C yellow, some modern shapes and some chrome details.
Same as Shinta, also for Calvin this is a comeback in Enrico Fulgenzi Racing, as he competed with the team in selected events from Sports Cup Suisse and Carrera Cup Italia last year.
Rindone suffered a big shunt two weeks ago, as something went wrong on his tire while he was coming to turn one at Mugello and put him straight into the wall at warp speed. Luckily he is ok, but he had some ribs and sternum issues. He will check his health during Free Practice, verifying if he is able to race or not. He is also an EFR Habitué, and completes the drivers lineup for the 2021 Suiss Campaign.
As usual the entire race will be followed and brought to you by Enrico Fulgenzi Racing’s media team, make sure you don’t miss anything!
